Forward Christian Center was founded in Jacksonville, Florida by Senior Pastor Charles & Azalea Williams with a bold vision: to establish a Spirit-filled, diverse, and unconventional church where the five-fold ministry gifts could operate in full measure and where people could move forward into their God-ordained purpose.

The church began with a handful of people gathering around a simple dream—to create a teaching and training center that would develop the whole person: spirit, soul, mind, body, family, and finances. From those early days, Forward Christian Center has remained faithful to its mission of equipping God’s people to discover their gifts, walk in their calling, and saturate the city with the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Milestones in the Journey

• The Beginning – Forward launched with the goal of empowering people through sound biblical teaching in a Spirit-filled environment where all could grow in faith and community.

• A Growing Church – What started as a small group quickly grew into a vibrant congregation known for passionate worship, practical teaching, and an unwavering commitment to developing leaders.

• Equipping & Training – Forward became a center for teaching and training, raising up men, women, and children to use their God-given gifts in ministry and everyday life.

• Outreach & Impact – As Forward grew, so did its influence in Jacksonville. The church established itself as a pillar in the city—serving families, giving generously, and extending practical support to those in need.

• The Movement Forward – Today, Forward Christian Center continues to thrive as a Spirit-filled church that embraces diversity, advances the Kingdom of God, and prepares the next generation to carry the gospel forward.
